Smithfield Station
I received some great news yesterday, my photo Smithfield Station at Night, was chosen as the cover shot for the 2011 – 2012 Smithfield Virginia Directory. I captured the photo on a beautiful evening this past December, just after an early season snow. I have included some info below the photo on Smithfield, enjoy!

Smithfield, Virginia is a river port town located in Southeastern Virginia.
Though not incorporated until 1752, Smithfield and the surrounding Isle of Wight County were first colonized in 1634. Located along the banks of the Pagan River, and just across the James River from Jamestown, the area was quickly discovered by Captain John Smith and other early settlers.
Smithfield, Virginia is a beautiful and well preserved town. If you are visiting Williamsburg or Virginia Beach and have an extra day I would highly recommend visiting!
Smithfield Station Lighthouse is a reproduction of a Chesapeake Bay Style Lighthouse, and is modeled after the Hooper Strait Lighthouse in Maryland. The light atop Smithfield Station is operational, but is not an official aid to navigation.
The Lighthouse has two spacious suites, and is the only lighthouse on the East Coast where you can stay overnight, truly unique accommodations! For more information visit Smithfield Station.
